Navigating the River Road Entrances

When driving to River Rock Casino Resort at 8811 River Road in Richmond, your entry point depends on whether you are self-parking or using valet services. The resort sits directly south of the Fraser River, bordered by Great Canadian Way and the Bridgeport Canada Line station. Drivers driving from Vancouver over the Oak Street Bridge or Knight Street Bridge, as well as those driving up from Seattle on Highway 99, will approach via River Road or Great Canadian Way.

The main self-parking structure is accessed from the west side of the property off River Road. Hotel overnight guests receive self-parking in the West lot as part of the daily resort fee. Pay attention to directional signage on River Road: lane markings separate vehicles turning into the main porte-cochère for valet and check-in from those heading directly up the ramps into the self-parking parkade levels.

Please note that provincial regulations apply across the resort grounds. Entry to the casino gaming floor is strictly limited to adults aged 19 and older with valid government-issued photo ID required at the door. Gaming on the property is conducted by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and regulated by the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO). The property has been owned since 16 June 2026 by a partnership of Petroglyph Development Group and Musqueam Capital Corp.

Hotel Guest Self-Parking and the Resort Fee

Registered hotel guests staying in either the Hotel Tower or Casino Tower do not pay a separate line-item charge for self-parking in the West lot. Self-parking is standardly included within the resort fee of $19.99 CAD per room per night (plus applicable taxes). This daily fee also covers upgraded WiFi, pool and fitness centre access, bottled water in the room, and local phone calls.

To access the self-parking stalls, follow the West lot ramps up to levels P2 and above. Official floor plans indicate that specific stalls on lower levels are strictly reserved for valet operations or authorized pass holders, and unauthorized vehicles in reserved stalls face enforcement. Once parked, elevators and covered footpaths connect directly into the main hotel lobbies and the Sky Bridge linking the towers.

For non-overnight casino visitors or diners visiting venues such as Gordon Ramsay Steak or Sea Harbour, the resort's official site does not publish general public hourly parking rates. Drivers coming solely for dining or gaming should inspect garage signage at the entry gate or check with guest services upon arrival.

Valet Parking and Main Gate Arrival

Valet service is available for overnight guests and day visitors at the main resort entrance along River Road. The published valet rate is $33.00 CAD per night. When pulling into the main porte-cochère, staff will inspect your vehicle, log your contact details, and provide a claim ticket before parking the vehicle in secure lower-level stalls.

Valet parking is particularly convenient for guests carrying heavy luggage destined for the Casino Tower or Hotel Tower rooms and suites, as the valet drop-off area puts you steps from the front desk reception desk. When checking out, call down to the valet desk from your room phone in advance during peak morning checkout hours to minimize waiting time on the driveway.

If you are travelling with an electric vehicle, EV charging options on-site are handled through valet staff. Because specific charger technical specifications, connector counts, and charging speeds are not published on the resort's official site, we recommend confirming plug availability with valet staff upon arrival or calling hotel reservations at 604-247-8900 prior to your trip.

Over-Height Parking, Tall Vans, and RVs

Standard multi-storey parking garages have strict ceiling height limitations. Vehicles exceeding standard clearance—such as high-roof passenger vans, commercial vans, trucks with camper shells, or small recreational vehicles—cannot enter the main West lot parkade. For these vehicles, River Rock provides designated over-height self-parking in the East Parkade at a published tariff of $25.00 CAD per night.

When approaching the resort with an over-height vehicle, do not attempt to enter the West lot ramps. Follow signs toward Great Canadian Way and the East Parkade structure. If you are operating a large motorhome or towed trailer, note that the resort does not publish maximum vehicle length limits or offer utility hookups (water, power, or sewer connections) anywhere on site.

Drivers with large RVs or oversized commercial vehicles should contact hotel reservations at 604-247-8900 or casino guest services at 604-273-1895 prior to arrival to verify space availability in the open surface areas or East Parkade before navigating the River Road turning bays.

Timing Your Arrival and Traffic Considerations

Traffic volume along River Road and Great Canadian Way varies significantly based on time of day and regional commuter patterns. The resort sits near major transportation corridors, directly across the street from Bridgeport station on the Canada Line train. Commuter traffic bottlenecking at the George Massey Tunnel to the south, or the Oak Street and Knight Street bridges to the north, can cause significant congestion on River Road between 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM on weekdays.

If you are driving in from Vancouver or arriving from Vancouver International Airport (YVR), aim to arrive outside peak rush hours if possible. If you are arriving during heavy traffic hours, entering via Great Canadian Way off Van Horne Way can sometimes avoid queueing on Westbound River Road.
